Chloe woke up to her phone ringing the next morning. She sat up quickly and grabbed her phone out of her purse.
"Hello?" She asked.
Chris turned to her.
"Is this. . . Chloe Vancamp?" A man asked.
"Yes." She said nervously.
"We were all very amazed by your performance yesterday." He said.
"Thank you." She said smiling really big.
"Do you sing?" He asked.
"No. . ." She said.
"We have the part of Maureen Johnson open." He said.
"I bet you that I can fill that for you. My friend Lisa has an amazing voice." She said.
"Can she come in today and sing for us?" He asked.
"Yes!" Chloe said, trying not to sound too overly excited. "Yes, she can."
"Have her here in an hour." He said. "We'd like you to play the part of the bartendar too. You really blew us away."
"Oh my gosh. Thank you so much!" She said.
"No, thank you." He said. "We'd like you to go on the tour with us and perform here in California, Arizona, Utah, Washington and Colorado. We'll discuss it further detail when you come in with your friend."
"I'll see you then!" She said.
"Bye." He said and hung up.
"OH. . . MY. . . GOD!" She screamed. Chris stood up and she ran into him hugging him. He laughed. "OH MY GOD!!! LISA! LISA!" She screamed.

She barged into their bedroom screaming. Lisa stood up. She was a little freaked out. Johnny looked iritated.
"Lisa, how would you like to play the role of Maureen Johnson in a production of Rent? Or several productions of Rent." Chloe said.
"Yeah, in my dreams." Lisa said. "Wait a second. . ." Lisa remembered that Chloe had just auditioned to be a dancer for Rent.
"Tell me you're joking." Lisa said.
"No joking! Get ready! Audition is in an hour!" Chloe screamed.
"My ears." Johnny said.
"Shut up!" Chloe and Lisa both said at the same time.
"How fucking awesome would that be to tour together?" Chloe asked.
"Tour? We'd get to tour?" Lisa asked. "OH MY GOD!"

Chloe and Lisa rushed to take their showers and get ready. Chris just layed in his room reading. Johnny left to check out some museums.

He was so irritated that he won that money, and nobody cared. He thought they'd all be extatic. He sighed and realized he was just being a baby. He hadn't brought up going to get furniture yet, had he? Maybe they forgot. He went walked into an art museum and walked around for a couple hours.

"I can't do this." Lisa told her.
"Yes you can." Chloe said, hugging her.
"No I can't! I can't dance. I can't act." She said, shaking.
"Uh, you played the lead in Greese, remember?" Chloe asked.
"That was highschool." She said.
"And this isn't broadway! It's the Los Angeles Acting Company. They'll work with you once they hear your voice." Chloe assured her. "Besides. Your best friend is a great dancer. Maybe she'll teach you some things."
"Would you?" Lisa asked.
"Yes, but first you have to get up there and sing." Chloe told her.
"Lisa Mills." A man leaning out of the theatre door called. Lisa got up and followed him into the theater.

Chloe wanted to be in there with her so bad, but they only let one person in the theatre to audion at a time. She was hardly a threat to anyone, but they didn't know that. She couldn't sit still and started walking back and forth down the hallway.
"Auditiong?" A guy asked her. She was startled, and almost ran into him when she looked up.
"Oh, no actualy." She told him.
"You look so nervous." He asked.
"Well, I auditioned yesterday, and I'm already in." She told him.
"Oh, congratulations!" He said. He was tall, athletic, and had to be an actor. He skin was smooth, his nails manicured, and his hair perfect.
"Are you audtioning?" She asked.
"Oh no. I was picked last week. I play Mark." He told her. Chloe wasn't surprised. He seemed to fit the role perfectly.
"Thats wonderful, congrats." She told him.
"What part do you have?" He asked her.
"I'm a backup dancer." She said.
"Someone as pretty as you? Just a dancer?" He asked. Chloe blushed.
"I'm not JUST a dancer. I'm really good." She told him, playing along.
"Oh, I'm sure you are good." He told her, and smiled.
"Hey, can you do me a favor and peek your head in? See how my friend is doing?" She asked him.
"Of course." He said. He walked in, then came out a moment later.
"Amazing." He said.
"What?" Chloe asked.
"Her voice, it's presence. Just amazing." He said.
"Oh thank goodness! Do you think she'll get the part?" She asked him.
"I know she will." He said. Chloe was excited and squeeled, hugging her new friend.
"Oh my god! I'm sorry!" She said, regaining her composure.
"Don't be. I want another hug." He said, and she laughed.
"I'm serious." He told her. Chloe smiled, and gave him a quick hug.

"Very good." Said the casting director halfway through her song.
"Thank you." Lisa said.
"Normaly we do call backs, but I think we all agree," Pause. The woman paused. Was that good? Were they sending her home? "You've got the part." She said. Lisa stood there frozen.
"You got the part." The director told her.
"Thank you." Lisa whispered. The three people running the auditions laughed.
"You can be more excited then that. We'll be in touch." The casting director said.
Lisa ran off the stage, through the thatre and out to the lobby. She barreled through some guy Chloe was talking to and hugged her nearly knocking her over.
"I GOT IT!" She screamed. Chloe started screaming and they jumped around.
"You two are new to this, aren't you?" Mark asked.
"Yes." Chloe said laughing. "Oh, Lisa. This is..." She paused, she almost said Mark, before she realized that was his characters name.
"TJ." He answered.
"TJ." She said.
"Hi TJ." Lisa said, and shook his hand.
"He plays Mark." Chloe told her.
"Oh cool." Lisa said.
"Well, It was nice meeting you, Chloe, Lisa. I'll see you around. First rehersal is in a few days." He said, winking at Chloe.
"Come on, lets go tell Chris and Johnny!" Lisa said, and her and Chloe ran out to the car.

Chris was still reading when he heard the girls come screaming through the front door.

Sarah said...

"She got the part!" Chloe shouted.
Lisa screamed.

Just then, Johnny walked in the door. "I so got the part." Lisa told Johnny. She ran over to him a gave him a big hug. "Cool." He said.

Chris walked out of the bedroom. "Congratulations." He told Lisa. "At least some of us are leaping in the right direction."
"I've been trying." Johnny said defensivly.
Chris nodded. "I wasn't implying anything." He told Johnny.

"Hey, Chlo, do you think we could get a room to practice in tonight?" Lisa asked Chloe.
Chloe laughed. "Let's take it easy tonight. We'll practice tomorrow."

"Should we get dinner?" Chloe asked everyone.
Chris shrugged, then Johnny shrugged.
"Yes." Lisa said. "We're going to have an nice family dinner."
Chris sighed. Lisa put her arm around Johnny. "Come on, let's go." Lisa said.
Her and Johnny walked out the door. "Come on!" Lisa said again.
Chloe smiled at Chris. "I can't wait to see you onstage." Chris told her.
"I bet I get stage fright." Chloe giggled nervously.
"Nah." Chris said smiling.
"I'm really sorry about everything." Chloe said.
"I know you are." Chris sighed.
"I love you, Chris. A lot." Chloe said.
"I love you too." He said. "I know you are just a back up dancer and you have one small part, but you're gonna own that stage."
Chloe gave him a hug. She felt like crying. Chris was the sweetest guy in the world. How could she do anything to jeapordize their friendship and hurt him so badly? She was glad he was smiling again. She took his hand in hers and they walked out the door.
