Chris up way to early the next morning. He wasn't feeling well either and he wasn't sure why. He poured himself a glass of water and sat on the floor in the corner of the living room. He leaned back up against the wall and took a sip of his water. "We need a TV." He said to himself. He decided to go take a walk to the gas station and get a coffee. The idea of fresh air sounded nice to him too. He put his glass of water on the kitchen counter. He put some shorts on and a sweatshirt, then left.

"Oh wow." Lisa said loudly.
Chloe opened her eyes. "What?" She mumbled.
"I read Chris' novel." Lisa said.
"What?" Chloe asked. She sat up quickly and got a head rush. He put her hand on her head and closed her eyes. "He didn't want any of us to read it, Lisa." Chloe said.
"And I can see why." Lisa said.
"What do you mean?" Chloe asked.
"I'm pretty sure it's about you." Lisa explained.
"Oh god. I'm so not reading it then." Chloe said.
"You shouldn't." Lisa said. "It's too deep. It would probably make you cry. And maybe confuse you a bit."
"Great." Chloe said.
"It's awesome though. He is definatly talented." Lisa said. She got up and walked out of the room.
Chloe yawned as she stood up. She could hear Johnny and Lisa laughing in his bedroom. It sounded like they were wrestling around or something. She just giggled. She didn't feel jealous at all. She figured the whole her and Johnny thing was just a one night thing anyway. She got a Gatoraide from the fridge and sat out on the balcony.

"You jerk!" Lisa said laughing as she jumped on top of Johnny and hit him in the face with a pillow. He just laughed. She rolled off of him and layed next to him. "So, how are you doing?" She asked him. "We haven't really talked much since we've gotten here."
"I'm good." He said smiling.
"Good." She said.
He sat up. "I'm gonna go for a walk. I'll be back in like fifteen minutes."
"Where are you going?" She asked.
"Just wanna get some fresh air." He lied. He wanted to smoke and he figured it was good time to.
"Mind if I join you?" She asked.
Johnny hesitated. "Um, how about we hang out later?" He said.
"Johnny, what's goin on?" She asked.
Johnny hated lying to Lisa, but he had to. He just had to. He tried to think of something she wouldn't want to go along for.
"Johnny?" She asked.
He sighed, then laughed when he thought of the perfect lie.
"I'm going to the adult store." He said. "I want some magazines."
"Gross." Lisa said. "You're on your own there."
Johnny laughed.
"Just don't leave your porn in the bathroom all out in the open like you did back home." She said.
"I promise." He said.
She giggled and ran past him into the living room. Johnny grabbed his jacket and left. "Now I have to pick up some porn." Johnny laughed to himself.

Chris paid for his coffee and headed back to the apartment. He walked by a neat looking thrift store. It looked like they sold all rock style clothing and accessories. He noticed a bunch of fliers and posters in the windows. He walked slowly as he read them all. "Auditions for RENT. Looking for back up dancers." Chris read.
He knew how much Chloe loved that show. He got excited and laughed. He went into the store and grabbed some of the fliers from a shelf. He went running to the apartment. He couldn't wait to show Chloe. He knew she was be ecstatic!

Since she didn't get to go on a walk with Johnny, Lisa went next door to see Tucker. They had to keep postponing their practice, so she gave up any hope of singing with them. She wasn't sure how she felt about the idea of singing for a band anyway. She shrugged as she thought about it, then laughed at herself for shrugging. She knocked on the door, and Tucker answered.
"Hey." He said, smiling. He opened the door and let her in.
"Morning." She told him.
"Good morning." He told her. "I was just about to go wash my car."
"Oh, were you?" She asked, kind of disapointed. She loved hanging out with him.
"Does someone want to help me?" He asked.
"Does someone need help?"
"Oh stop playing games." He said, laughing. "You are coming and helping." He told her. She laughed, and followed him downstairs. They drove to a close do it yourself car wash.

Chloe walked back to her room and saw Chris' novel on the floor near where Lisa slept. Not wanting Chris to be hurt if he found out someone read it, she picked it up to take it back to his room. But then, she saw the title.
"The road to lilac paradise." She read out loud. Lilac Paradise was her favorite perfume. Curious, she opened it and read the first page. The first page turned into ten pages. Ten pages turned into the whole first chapter. She stopped before she continued. It was all about a man who fell in love with a woman that sounded remakably like her. At least so far, and she had a feeling if she continued reading, it seem more and more like her. She got a chill up her spine, and shivered. Instead of reading more, she put the novel in his room and shut the door. Just in time, because he bounded in the front door, just as she was shutting his bedroom door.

"Chloe! Guess what!" He shouted.
"What?" She asked, smiling. She was intrigued by his bouncy demeanor.
"Look what I found." He said, holding up the flyer.
"Another one?" She asked, rolling her eyes. Everything else he had brought was a joke. One of the flyers even turned out to be for a porn movie. She laughed when she remembered calling that number, and hanging up the phone so hard she almost broke it. Then one word caught her attention.
"RENT!" She shouted, snatching it from him. She ran for her phone and called the number at once.

"Stop!" Lisa shouted. "You are getting more water on me then you are the car!"
"That's the point." Tucker said, and sprayed her again. She yelled, and sprayed him with the other hose. Just then the water shut off.
"Aw man. I'm out of quarters." Tucker said. "I'll be write back." He walked inside to get more change. She just sighed, and started singing when she got bored. She didn't see anyone, and figured no one else was the car wash.
"Row row row your boat, gently down the stream. Merily, Merily, Merily, Merily, life is but a dream." She sang it several times, changing her pitch and inflection everytime. She heard someone caugh, and looked up real quick.
"Yes?" She asked the guy standing there.
"I'm sorry, was that you singing?" He asked.
"Um, yes it was." She told him, blushing. She had no idea anyone could hear her.
"Beautiful." He told her. She just smiled.
"I'm Tom Kopher. I work for the L.A. Talent Agency." He told her, and her eyes got so big, Tom thought they would fall out.
"You're kidding." She said.
"Nope." He told her.
"I've been trying to schedule an audition with you guys for a week." She told him.
"It's hard, I know. But we only take the very best, and so many people want audtitions...Let's just say it takes time." He told her.
"Wow." She said again.
"Tell you what. Here is my card, call the number on the back and you'll get right in to my personal secratary. I'm off today, so give me a call tomorrow and I'll set you up with an audition." He told her.
"Thank you so much." She told him, studying the card.
"What was your name?" He asked her. She suddenly realized she hadn't said much of anything and felt like an idiot.
"L-lisa." She stammered, and felt even more like an idiot. He just smiled, and shook her hand.
"Nice to meet you Lisa." He told her, then went back to washing his car. Tucker came out a second later with more quarters to load into the machine.
"Man that takes forever." He said,
"You'll never believe this." Lisa told him.
