Chris was the first to wake up after the previous late night. He yawned and stretched as much as he could without waking up Chloe.
"Why did I let you get away?" He thought to himself. He literaly felt pained when he thought of how it used to be. He imagined what it would have been like to marry her, have a family where he was a successful writer, and she a famous dancer. He smiled and pushed the old dream aside. He couldn't help but think she was absolutely adorable. She was facing him with her head on his chest. Her lips where slightly parted and her light brown hair was in her face. He pushed it aside and stared at her lightly tanned skin. He wanted nothing more in the world then to kiss her and wake her up like he used to. Instead he very carefully unzipped the tent, and slid out. She let out a snort, and he had to stifle a laugh. He walked over to the car and dug around in his bag for his notebook and pencil. When he finaly he found it, he took a short walk and sat down on a fallen tree to write.

"What time is it?" Lisa mumbled when she heard Johnny fumbling with the tent.
"Holy Shit! It's noon!" He shouted, suddenly becoming fully awake.
"What?" We should have left hours ago!" Lisa said, getting up. The quickly packed up everything in their tent, and then the tent itself.

Chloe hadn't slept so good in months. In her sleep she forgot that her and Chris were no longer together and was startled when she woke up and he wasn't there.
"Chris?" She asked, then opened her eyes. Thats when she remembered they were camping and her and Chris where no longer dating. She scolded herself for forgetting, then climbed out of the tent. She saw Johnny and Lisa quickly packing up there tent, then looked around for Chris. She saw him a short ways off and whisled to him. He looked up from his writing, and she waved for him to come over and help her pack up their tent.

It was almost 2:00 when they were finaly on the main highway again.
"At this rate we are never getting there!" Lisa whined.
"Relax, and just enjoy the trip." Johnny said. She just stuck her tounge out at him.
"I'm starving." Chris said. He was in the passenger seat while Johnny drove.
"Me too." Lisa said, rubbing her stomach.
"The map said there is a city coming up here pretty soon. We'll stop and get food. Then it should only be another 6 hours until we reach the Arizona/California boarder." Johnny told her.
"Thank goodness." She said. Chloe was just staring out the window remembering the time when Chris tried to plan a big wonderful evening after prom. She laughed out loud when she remembered how frantic he was the whole evening.
"What?" Lisa asked her when she heard he laugh.
"Nothing." Chloe said, still gazing out the dirty car window. Unlike Chris she was completey over their relationship. She wanted nothing more then meet new people and start over fresh in the new Big City. She loved Chris, but not the same way he loved her.

"It's about time!" Lisa said, jumping out of the car when they reached the Fudruckers. "I want a big ass cheeseburger!" She said. Chris just laughed at her and followed her inside.
"He'll get over you eventually." Johnny told Chloe as they followed them inside.
"I know. I hope soon." She said.
"He will. He'll be so excited when we hit L.A. You'll see." He said, and took her hand.

"I want a pound cheeseburger with fries, a large drink and two cookies." Lisa said.
"Christ woman!" Chris said, and they guy taking their order laughed.
"I'm starving." She said. After they all ordered they went to a booth in the corner.
"Well guys. In 24 hours we'll be in L.A. If we drive through the night. I figured we could take turns driving." He said.
"Sure thing. I'll drive after you." Chloe volunteered.
"And then me." Lisa said. She wasn't about to attempt driving in L.A. yet."
"And I'll bring us home." Chris said.
