Lisa laughed and picked up the empty wine bottle. She held it up. "Well, I was going to say, let's drink some wine to celebrate the good news, but it looks like someone already got to it." She said. "I picked that up yesterday." Chris said. "Sorry." Johnny said. "Chloe and I went a little overboard. I'll go get some more." Wine was the last thing Johnny wanted to be drinking at the moment. The thought of it made him want to puke. He figured Chloe was thinking the same thing. "How about champagne?" Lisa suggested.
"Yes, please!" Johnny and Chloe both said at the same time. Everyone laughed. "Okay, then." Lisa said. "Champagne it is."
"Oh." Johnny said. "We all need to sit down and talk for a second. I went over our money last night and we have enough to go grocery shopping. That's it. I was thinking that Chris and I could get full time jobs and maybe just take some night courses at the community college. I think you girls need more of the time during the day to make your shit happen. So, what do you guys think?"
Chris sighed. "I don't need to take any courses." "Well, I don't really need to either. . ." Johnny said.
"I'll get full time job and take some dance classes. I may even be able to teach soon." Chloe said. "Same here." Lisa said. "I'll get a full time job for a while too. We can start looking next week."
"You need REAL jobs though." Johnny said. "Not like some minium wage job."
"I know, Johnny." Lisa said with frustration. "Just making sure, babe." Johnny said. "We've got to live off this money."
"No shit." Lisa said. "Let's not start arguging here." Chris said. "We'll see if we can get some entry level office job or something that pays enough." Lisa said.
Johnny stood up. "I'll go grab some champagne. Anyone wanna come with me?" He asked, looking right at Chloe. "I will. I need tampons." Lisa said standing up. Johnny laughed. "Gross." Chris said. "Oh hush." Lisa said.
Johnny and Lisa left. "I'm gonna take a shower." Chloe said as she stood up. "Hey, wait." Chris said. He stood up next to Chloe. "About before. . ." He said. "We're good." She said. It hurt a little for her to say those words. She thought about Johnny. "Yeah, I think we'll be okay." She said. "Yeah?" Chris asked. She smiled. "Yeah." He gave her a hug. "If any guy hurts you though, you know I'll have to kick his ass." He said. She giggled. "With those pewny arms?" She asked. "Hey now." He said flexing his arms in the air. She squeezed them. "Okay, but what if I start dating like a kick boxer or something that is twice your size?" She giggled. "Then I'd have Johnny help me kick his ass." He laughed. She giggled. "Love you." He said hugging her again. "Never forget that." "I know." She said. "I love you too."
"So. . ." Lisa said as they stepped into the grocery store. "So." Johnny said. "A whole bottle. You must've been pretty off." She said. Johnny just shrugged. "I'll grab some milk." He said changing the subject. "Yeah, okay." Lisa said. "Dork." She muttered, then laughed.
The whole time Chloe spent in the shower, she was thinking of Johnny. And then Chris, and then back to Johnny. She still felt slightly out of it. She washed her face a dozen times trying to wake herself up a little more. She couldn't beleive that she hadn't danced in over a week. She sighed as she dried off her hair. "Shit." She said looking up in the mirror noticing she had a pimple in the middle of her chin. She hadn't really taken care of herself as much as ussuall since the day they left home. She wrapped a towel around herself and put a face mask on. Chris laughed at her when he saw her walk from the bathroom to her bedroom. "Shut up!" She shouted laughing. "I'm kidding!" He said back to her. She laughed as she sat down on the floor. She dug through one of her bags for something to wear. She decided to just throw her old jeans on again with her black Aerosmith baby tee. She brushed through her long hair and threw it up in a pony tail. She heard Johnny and Lisa get back, so she rushed back out to the living room. "Whoa. You look like an alien." Johnny teased her. "Shut up." She said.
"Do you guys mind if I go see Tucker?" Lisa asked. "What?" Johnny asked. "Oh yeah, we got milk and stuff too." Lisa said. She looked at Johnny. "Is it a big deal?" "I thought we were all in this thing together." Johnny said. "We are." Lisa said. "Come on, Leese. Stick around for a bit." Chris said to her. Lisa sighed. "Or don't. Geez." Chris said. Lisa giggled. "You guys love me." She said sitting down on the floor. Johnny put the groceries away and poured them each a small glass of champagne. Chloe went to the bathroom and washed her mask off. Then she rushed back to the living room. "We're not gonna toast again, are we?" Johnny asked. "Of course we are!" Lisa said holding up her glass. Johnny and Chris looked at eachother, rolled their eyes, then held up their glasses. "To new starts, to success and. . ." Lisa thought for a second. "To sticking together ALWAYS." Chloe giggled as they all took big sips of their champagne. She looked up and noticed Johnny was staring at her. She smiled and he smiled back. "Everything's cool. We're all good. We're gonna make it." Johnny said. "Yes we will!" Lisa said with excitement. Chris put his arm around Chloe and pulled her up against him. He kissed the top of her head. "Yeah, we're all good." Chris said. Johnny looked away and actually appeared a little jealous. It made Chloe laugh. She looked around at her friends. They were all laughing and happy. "Everything's cool." Chloe said again as she took another sip of her champagne.
